The trench, but smaller: Cropped trench from Tulle

This spring, designers have reimagined the trench coat in a variety of more feminine, more functional shapes and lines. One of my favorites is the cropped trench, a slightly smaller, scaled-down version of the classic menswear shape.

Cropped doesn’t mean wee and tiny, thoug — it simply means shorter and more suited to a woman’s body. This cropped trench from Tulle combines the traditional trench shape (double breasted, tied at the waist, with useful front pockets) with a shorter hemline, three-quarter sleeves, and a stand-out collar. And the bright pop of cobalt blue will leave you hoping for rain.

Textured canvas cropped trench, currently $80.00 at Tulle.
