You know a reality TV show has truly hit it big when its stars are on the May cover of Rolling Stone. Just how did the leading ladies of “The Hills” snag the cover? After two years of being on MTV, are we at the peak of the obsession? More importantly, it took an iconic music magazine to get two feuding ex-friends together in one room?!
The writer of the article reports that on set, “the atmosphere was cordial but chilly.” Lauren and Heidi did not speak once throughout the day. MTV publicists and the show creator were also on set. That may be why no hair was loss and no catfights broke out.
I guess Rolling Stone was going for the whole sleepover, girls-having-fun kinda thing. It would have been a cute concept if you knew that Lauren, Whitney, Audrina, and Heidi were actually friends. It would be even cuter if they all looked like they were at the same shoot. Why do Lauren and Whitney look so natural while Audrina and Heidi look so posed? Well, I guess it actually makes sense when you think about it…
The latest controversy that’s got everyone a-buzzin’ is Miley Cyrus’s photoshoot for Vanity Fair. The issue with the story has yet to hit newsstands, but the Disney cash cow is already apologizing. 
In one of the photos, which were shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, Miley is wrapped in a bedsheet, with her back exposed. She pretty much appears to be topless. Miley also poses with her then-boyfriend in other shots. Of course, for the parents of her young fans and the Disney Channel, this does not translate very well. Cue in the apology:
“For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed…I am truly sorry if I disappointed anyone.”
While the photo is very pretty, Miley is only 15-years-old with a wholesome image to keep up with. It wasn’t in good taste of Vanity Fair to ask a teenager to pose in a provocative manner, though they maintain that Miley’s parents were on set the whole day.
We get that even teen queens need to feel sexy once in a while, but can’t you just make kissy faces in the privacy of your own room?
People.com reports that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer were spotted dining together in Miami. Before splitting a peanut butter and chocolate dessert (yum), the manager of theMichael’s Genuine Food & Drink said the duo were engaged in a deep conversation. Since Jen frequents the restaurant while she’s filming “Marley & Me” in town, they opened up early to accomodate her and her new friend.
“I can’t speculate on what kind of meeting it was but they looked happy and seemed to have a great time,” he told People.

Jennifer Lopez is the latest star to join the reality TV show bandwagon. Though the actress/singer/designer/savvy businesswoman has dipped her manicured toes into reality television before (remember Dancelife on MTV?), this time around, the spotlight will be completely on her and her family. The camera will follow Jennifer around as she tries to juggle mommy-hood (with twins, no less) and her career. 
Honestly, Jennifer Lopez was one of the last celebs I would expect to sign onto having her life taped. The old Jennifer (circa Ben Affleck) might have agreed to it, but the new and married Jennifer seems much too private for it. I’m curious to see what other side of the former pop diva we’ll see – how is she as a mother? What kind of outlandish, bizarre requests will she make? Who knows, we may be surprised!
The newly announced and untitled show, with J-Lo as executive producer, will be filmed at the Anthony-Lopez clan’s Long Island home, and air on TLC at an undetermined date.

When a popular young celebrity gets engaged, pregnancy rumors are bound to quickly follow. It’s just a natural progression. Is it taboo to think that a young couple would actually want to marry for – gasp – love? 
Take the recent engagement of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz. A few days after they announced the happy news, UsWeekly made another unofficial statement on their behalf: the rocker couple is with child.
Pete immediately denied the rumors, while his fiancée stayed relatively mum and played it coy. People.com then reported that 23-year-old Ashlee was spotted “eating for two” and “with gusto.” Hey, I eat enough for two all the time, but I don’t have any buns in the oven (at least not those buns). Also, Ashlee and Pete have been talking marriage for awhile now - she sported a promise ring back in February. Her stomach still is as flat as a pancake - do the math.
So while I have no idea what Ash’s baby bump status is, the lesson is not that she is not preggers, but that maybe we shouldn’t jump to conclusions so quickly. I’m not going to attach “pregnant” or “mom-to-be” to Ashlee’s name everytime I write it. Of course, I also don’t receive tips from “inside sources” so I don’t have any reason to report a pregnancy. After all, young moms do seem to be the new trend in Hollywood…

What a happenin’ weekend in Hollywood!
- Katie Holmes is back in V. Becks’ life, helping the Spice Girl celebrate her birthday at a super star-studded dinner (Elton, Gwen, Eva, Kate Becks, Heidi, Will and Jada). Mrs. Cruise also feted the second birthday of baby Suri on Friday.
- Owen Wilson was by Kate Hudson’s side as she rang in her 29th birthday in Miami.
- Other lovebirds celebrating a birthday were Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo. Jess sang and fed Tony cake for his 28th.
- Not so happy couple news: Kanye and his fiancé Alexis have broken off their engagement though they remain friends.
- LiLo was spotted sipping vodka cocktails in New York City. No comment.
- Britney is in talks to do more episodes of “How I Met Your Mother,” though nothing has been finalized yet.
- Justin Timberlake and John Mayer both attended the memorial service for Cameron Diaz’s late father on Sunday.

I was perusing the newsstand today when an image of a blonde woman shaving her face caught my eye. There was Jessica Simpson on the cover of Esquire, attempting a weak portrayal of Marilyn Monroe. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jess. And she looks cute. But then I realize that she isn’t trying to pay homage to Marilyn. Oh right, Lindsay Lohan’s been there, done that. Instead Esquire is aiming to recreate an old 1965 cover of the Monroe-esque actress Virna Lisi.
The accompanying article compliments Jessica by saying that she will “last a Liz Taylor lifetime” and “in for the long haul.” The writer also gets Jess to take off her bra and reveal that she is most jealous of Scarlett Johansson. Wait, back up…take off her bra? Yes, read all about it here.
Speaking of Lindsay – yes, everything on this blog unintentionally goes back to her – The Daily News reports that she had a few laughs when she saw Jessica’s May cover. “I so already did that,” Linds supposedly said to her pals. The adrenaline rush from baring it all is still running high. According to the London Sun, she is willing to don the birthday suit for an independent film “Florence” at a mere $80,000 paycheck. However, ever-present momager Dina shoots down the rumor. Well, we do know if LiLo were to strip down again, it’ll be artsy and tasteful, blah blah blah…

Angelina Jolie’s humanitarian work does not slow down even when she’s pregnant (with twins?). She was in Washington, D.C. this week to discuss education in Iraq when she “felt kicking suddenly.” Seems like even the little one is inspired by Mom’s charity work.
In between appearances, Angie took her boys Maddox and Pax to explore the Air & Space Museum. Meanwhile, Zahara and Shiloh are spending some special quality time with their dad, Brad Pitt. It is speculated by industry insiders that the first photos of the new Jolie-Pitt tot(s) can fetch up to $10 million. No guessing what the parents will do with the money…

Okay, please let me devote one entry to how lovely – yes, lovely – Nicole Richie has become. First, she undergoes one of the most successful, dramatic transformations from young, crazy, and foul-mouthed sidekick to young, crazy, and chic style icon. And not to get all cheese-ball on you, but we also witnessed her grow into a mature young mom and philanthropist with a good head on her shoulders. 
Nic made an appearance sans bébé at last night’s ASCAP awards to support the honoring of her pop Lionel Richie (also on hand was Nicole’s sister, Sophia, right). And, mind you, please don’t call Lionel “grandpa.” It’s “g-pa” to little miss Harlow.
Nicole’s been a positive influence on some party pals as well. Look at Paris who’s claiming to want to settle down (see below). UsWeekly also reports that infamously restless La Lohan is back in Nic’s circle of friends now. Linds told her close friend that she “admires” how Nicole has her life together. Great, now follow her example!
