All That Glamour And Gossip

It seems to be a week for the stars to come out…of the closet, that is. 

First, Clay Aiken finally admits on the cover of this week’s People that he is, indeed, gay. Rumors have circulated for the past few years since his American Idol fame, but the singer never acknowledged it until now. Maybe it has something to do with being a father…

Perhaps he has inspired Lindsay Lohan to publicly confirm her relationship with Samantha Ronson? Not so. LiLo did recognize the obvious but was actually moved to do so from Sam’s good friend DJ AM’s recent near-death accident. 

During a radio call-in, Linds said she now knows it’s important to “treasure each moment.” 

The radio host, Stryker, took that as the perfect opportunity to question her about the relationship. He asked her who asked how long she and “your girl” Samantha “have been going out … like two years? One year? Five months? Two months?”

Lindsay answered with a giggle, “A very long time.”

By now, I’m sure we’re started to get slightly sick of hearing about Michael Phelps. I’m getting slightly sick of writing about him, but when starlets get involved, I have to step in. Hollywood’s been a-knocking ever since the swim giant won a record 14 career Olympic gold medals.

He nabbed a $1.7 mil book deal, shot a cameo for Entourage yesterday, will host SNL, will present at the VMAs next week, will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show season premiere along with other Olympians, blah blah blah…

But we really want to know about are the ladies in his life (and not his mom and sisters). Obviously, Michael can snag almost any lady now (except for swimmer Amanda Beard who thinks he’s “ew”) so it only makes sense the ladies of Hollywood would chase after him. 

The forerunner? Why, Lindsay Lohan of course. Samantha who?

London’s Daily Mirror tabloid claims that the party girl has been text stalking the athlete, “begging for a date.” Apparently Michael is smart enough to ignore her texts and even finds humor in the whole situation. He should be forewarned that he will run into LiLo next week at the VMAs.

However, Phelps is responding to Carrie Underwood’s texts. According to The National Enquirer - so please take with a grain of salt - the two will go on a non-eating date. Huh? Doesn’t Michael consume like a trillion calories a day?

Anyways, enough with the Aquaman! Where’s Aaron Peirsol?

New entourage alert! New entourage alert! Three’s not always a crowd. Über-exclusive duo Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson (LinSam or LoRon?) did dinner with a pink-coiffed Lily Allen at trendy eatery Il Sole last night. This is Lily Allen’s first visit to the States in a while since her visa was suspended last year.

On her MySpace page, Lily wrote that she had only expected to have dinner with her good friend Sam Ronson (her brother produced a few Lily songs) and was surprised when she brought a “rather famous friend” along. Huh-lo, doesn’t Lil know that the two party gals are permanently conjoined? And then some…

Courtney Cox Arquette also chose to dine at the restaurant last night. She got caught in the storm of paparazzi outside. Poor girl.

Hollywood better watch out for this troublesome threesome!

A picture’s worth a thousand words, huh. Rumors have swirled around the scarily inseparable blond duo for a while now that they are, ahem, more than just BFF.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were doing what they do best - partyin’ - aboard P. Diddy’s yacht in Cannes last night, where the above photograph was snapped. A source says they held hands all night and were acting “affectionate.”

The pals have been attached at the hip since last year (remember when Linds fell asleep in Sam’s car). LL is often seen at the DJ’s side at her gigs, and even created a Facebook page with the name “Lindsay Ronson.” It does have a ring to it.

It’s practically official. Guest-starring on a hit television show is the new one-month stint at Promises or Cirque Lodge. When starlets commit fouls and need to redeem themselves in the eyes of the public, they get their people to call TV people.

Latest case in point: Lindsay Lohan. The thrice-rehaber who reportedly fell off the sobriety wagon a few weeks ago will be doing a stint on ABC’s “Ugly Betty” as a former mean girl for the season finale + five episodes next season.

Angry electronics-throwing supermodel Naomi Campbell is also appearing on the finale as her divalicious self. Both “ugly” girls follow in the clumsy footsteps of Britney Spears, who will join the cast of “How I Met Your Mother” for one more episode to be aired next week.

Hey, “Gossip Girl,” this blogger hears that Amy Winehouse is available.

What a happenin’ weekend in Hollywood!

• Katie Holmes is back in V. Becks’ life, helping the Spice Girl celebrate her birthday at a super star-studded dinner (Elton, Gwen, Eva, Kate Becks, Heidi, Will and Jada). Mrs. Cruise also feted the second birthday of baby Suri on Friday.
• Owen Wilson was by Kate Hudson’s side as she rang in her 29^th birthday in Miami.
• Other lovebirds celebrating a birthday were Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo. Jess sang and fed Tony cake for his 28^th.
• Not so happy couple news: Kanye and his fiancé Alexis have broken off their engagement though they remain friends.
• LiLo was spotted sipping vodka cocktails in New York City. No comment.
• Britney is in talks to do more episodes of “How I Met Your Mother,” though nothing has been finalized yet.
• Justin Timberlake and John Mayer both attended the memorial service for Cameron Diaz’s late father on Sunday.

And there you have it: a weekend recap in less than 150 words!

I was perusing the newsstand today when an image of a blonde woman shaving her face caught my eye. There was Jessica Simpson on the cover of Esquire, attempting a weak portrayal of Marilyn Monroe. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jess. And she looks cute. But then I realize that she isn’t trying to pay homage to Marilyn. Oh right, Lindsay Lohan’s been there, done that. Instead Esquire is aiming to recreate an old 1965 cover of the Monroe-esque actress Virna Lisi.

The accompanying article compliments Jessica by saying that she will “last a Liz Taylor lifetime” and “in for the long haul.” The writer also gets Jess to take off her bra and reveal that she is most jealous of Scarlett Johansson. Wait, back up…take off her bra? Yes, read all about it here.

Speaking of Lindsay – yes, everything on this blog unintentionally goes back to her – The Daily News reports that she had a few laughs when she saw Jessica’s May cover. “I so already did that,” Linds supposedly said to her pals.  The adrenaline rush from baring it all is still running high. According to the London Sun, she is willing to don the birthday suit for an independent film “Florence” at a mere $80,000 paycheck. However, ever-present momager Dina shoots down the rumor. Well, we do know if LiLo were to  strip down again,  it’ll be artsy and tasteful, blah blah blah…

Everyone’s favorite zip code, 90210, is in works to return to the small screen with a spinoff. The creator and writer, Rob Thomas, said he wants to bring back one of the original cast members, but isn’t sure which one yet. Hmm, my money’s on Brian Austin Green aka David since there are characters who share his on-screen last name Silver.

Unfortunately, the late Heath Ledger is back in the spotlight. His uncles (one who is the actor’s godfather) claim that Heath’s dad is incapable of handling his will, which was drawn up before he was involved with Michelle Williams and fathered Matilda. The uncles say that they just want to make sure Matilda is taken care of, and that they fear that their brother will mismanage Heath’s estate like he did with their grandfather’s.

Just in time for the return of The Hills, nude photos of Audrina Patridge surface on the internet. Smartly, Audrina owns up and admits she made a mistake in her naïve teen days.

There is an arrest warrant out for Shia LaBeouf after he failed to appear in court for an unlawful smoking ticket. Since he’s currently MIA, if anyone sees him, please let me him know!

In fashion news…Lindsay Lohan’s designing a line of leggings, ‘nuff said. Heidi Montag is coming out with a clothing and accessories line to compete with nemesis Lauren Conrad’s line. Again, ‘nuff said.

It’s Lindsay’s world and we’re just livin in it. Get ready to see more of our favorite legging wearing, rehab going, Marilyn Monroe wannabe, boy crazy shopaholic starlet. Well, actually more of her attention-craving family (as if her dad hasn’t been in the spotlight enough). Her momager, Dina, has just signed with the E! channel to star in her own reality television show.

Ali, Lindsay’s 14-year-old sister, is also starring in the series which will be filming in their hometown in Long Island in two weeks. The show will follow how Dina wants to live vicariously through Lindsay balances being a mom to her four kids and manages Ali’s up-and-coming career.

After all, Ali did recently just say how much she wants to be like her big sis. “I want it so bad,” she told Teen Vogue. “So bad you don’t even know. And now, it’s actually happening.” Hmm, it’s great that ambition runs in the Lohan clan, but hopefully she’s got a clearer head on her shoulders. We don’t want another Jamie-Lynn Spears!
