Brida

Thank you Amazon for the picture

“”I want to learn about magic,” said the girl. The Magus looked at her. Faded jeans, T-shirt, the challenging look adopted by all shy people precisely when it’s least needed. “I must be twice her age,” he thought. And despite this, he knew that he had met his Soul Mate.

“My name’s Brida,” she went on. “Forgive me for not introducing myself. I’ve waited a long time for this moment and I’m more nervous than I thought I would be.”

“Why do you want to learn about magic?” he asked.”

Let’s see now…bathing suit, jeans, sweat shirt…hmmm? What am I doing? Oh simple I’m going over my list for my vacation; but the clothes are not the most important thing to take. No it’s my books; do you think 10 are too much? Oh well if it is then too bad, I’m going to be gone for an entire week with nothing but books, sand and water. Before I forget and wander off into fluffy mode, I just finished Brida written by the talented Paulo Coelho.

Did you know that Coelho has had his books translated into 63 languages and published in 150 countries? He is also the recipient of numerous prestigious international awards and was inducted into the Brazilizn Academy of Letters in 2002.

His newest story is about Brida, a young Irish girl, and her quest for knowledge. She has long been interested in various aspects of magic but is searching for something more. Her search leads her to people of great wisdom, who begin to teach Brida about the spiritual world. She meets a wise man who dwells in a forest, who teaches her about overcoming her fears and trusting in the goodness of the world; and a woman who teaches her how to dance to the music of the world, and how to pray to the moon. As Brida seeks her destiny, she struggles to find a balance between her relationships and her desire to become a witch.

This enthralling novel incorporates themes that fans of Paulo Coelho will recognize and treasure—it is a tale of love, passion, mystery, and spirituality from the master storyteller. I suggest you pick up your copy today.
